Leeds United (4-2-3-1)
1 Illan Meslier
Nothing he could really do about the well-struck opener. Not called into action much after that. Distribution was solid and he came for the right balls, apart from one in the first half which Chris Wood beat him to and he needed his teammates to bail him out of an open-goal situation. 6
2 Luke Ayling
Got forward well and consistently offered a dangerous option for the team down the right flank. Nottingham Forest rarely got down his side of the field. Arguably should have stayed with Brennan Johnson on the second phase of the free-kick he scored from. 6
6 Liam Cooper (c)
Organised the defence, allowed very little danger from open play and was assertive in claiming Forest's out-balls. 7

39 Max Wober
As commanding as we have seen in recent weeks. Barely makes a mistake and calms proceedings down with his authority. 7
21 Pascal Struijk
Tough afternoon dealing with Johnson down his flank. Consistently looked a yard off the pace when dealing with the forward. Took a yellow when giving away the foul which generated the free-kick before the opening goal. Looks shaky. 5
12 Tyler Adams
As reliable as always with his predictions on where to be for the ball. Tackles, interceptions, battles. 7
8 Marc Roca
Distribution frustrated all afternoon. Every time the ball came to him he gave it a panicked, aimless hoof up the field. Needs to work on his composure. 5
23 Luis Sinisterra
Got about, but looked rusty and off the pace. Painful miss from six yards out was tough to swallow. 5
11 Jack Harrison
Nowhere near the influence of eight days ago. Match passed him by with little say. 4
29 Wilfried Gnonto
Once again looked like the only avenue for Leeds to score. Denied by an excellent Keylor Navas save with his best effort. Ran into a lot of traffic with a deep defensive line. 6
9 Patrick Bamford
The rusty performance we had feared after so little top-flight football. Ball bounced off him or he kicked away with heavy dribbling. Lacked pace. 4
Substitutes
22 Joel Robles
3 Junior Firpo (on for Struijk 67min)
Forest went into their shells and did not offer too much threat for the left-back to face. Kept making decent runs off the ball down the flank on the overlap. 6
7 Brenden Aaronson
10 Crysencio Summerville (on for Sinisterra 57min)
Could not unlock the deeply-defended door. Tried. 5
24 Georginio Rutter (on for Bamford 67min)
Barely noticed on the field as he was wrapped up by the centre-backs. 4
25 Rasmus Kristensen
28 Weston McKennie (on for Roca 56min)
Brought industry and bite to the midfield battle. 6
42 Sam Greenwood (on for Harrison 83min)
Late change. N/A
49 Mateo Joseph
