Andrea Radrizzani attended Spain and Germany’s close-contested draw in the World Cup. A nervy affair saw the latter snatch a 1-1 draw late on to blow Group E wide open ahead of the final game.
Earlier in the day, Costa Rica handed Germany a lifeline by defeating Japan 1-0 at the Ahmed bin Ali Stadium. All four nations have a chance of qualifying next week - making it the most intriguing group in the tournament.
Leeds United have representation at the World Cup, with United States duo Tyler Adams and Brenden Aaronson joined by Rasmus Kristensen of Denmark. However, few expected to see the club’s owner brushing shoulders with some of Europe’s elite.

Interestingly, Radrizzani was sitting alongside Bosnian duo Edin Dzeko and Miralem Pjanic. Former Manchester City striker Dzeko - now 36 - is plying trade at Inter Milan. Six goals in 15 goals this season is a respectable return and Leeds are desperate for a reliable goalscorer.
Patrick Bamford continues to be plagued by injuries while William Gnonto, at 19, is viewed as the long-term answer. Perhaps the Elland Road chief was on a scouting mission, with plenty of talent in the Spain and German ranks.
Record signing Rodrigo and Diego Llorente proves Radrizzani is no stranger to attracting Spanish internationals to Yorkshire. The duo were named in Luis Enrique’s 55-man provisional squad for the World Cup.
