Leeds United on course to shatter unwanted Premier League record this season

Having collected almost a century of yellow cards this season, Leeds United are looking set to breaking the record for the amount of cautions in a single Premier League campaign. The Whites have been often criticised for their ill-discipline in and out of possession and it has cost them on occasions this term.

Leeds have picked up 90 yellow cards - an average of three per game. This is almost a third more than any other team in the division - with Newcastle United (66) and Aston Villa (63) the next two highest. It is an astonishingly high number for a side that recorded just 61 in the whole of last season.

There are eight matches to go this season and it is very likely that Leeds will smash Sunderland's previous top-flight record. The Black Cats registered 94 bookings during the 2014/15 season and the Whites would need just five more to be at the top of the list.
