Here are your Leeds United evening headlines for Thursday, September 22.
Leeds scouts watch Ukrainian winger
Leeds scouts watched Scotland beat Ukraine 3-0 in Glasgow on Wednesday, according to a report from 90min. Scouts from over half of the Premier League clubs were reportedly in attendance, with most keeping a close eye on Shakhtar Donetsk winger Mykhaylo Mudryk.
Defender Mykola Matviyenko and Dynamo Kyiv winger Viktor Tsygankov were also being watched. Mudryk made 19 appearances during his breakthrough year at Shakhtar last season - scoring two goals and providing nine assists.
The 21-year-old has increased his stock with two goals and two assists in Shakhtar's opening two UEFA Champions League games against RB Leipzig and Celtic respectively.
Matviyenko has been capped 52 times by Ukraine and has amassed 137 appearances since making his debut at Shakhtar in 2015. Tsygankov has twice been named Ukrainian Footballer of the Year in 2018 and 2021 respectively and has contributed 87 goals and 60 assists in 220 outings in total for Dynamo Kyiv.

As Leeds United's Premier League campaign comes to a stop because of the international break, a lot of their players will be keeping their fitness up by representing their countries.

Cresswell on Leeds PL debut
Charlie Cresswell has opened up on the circumstances that led to his surprise Premier League debut for Leeds United last September against West Ham United. The defender is one of the main men featured in Amazon Prime’s new documentary ‘Academy Dreams: Leeds United’, which is released on the streaming service on Friday.
The six-part series focuses on the Whites’ youngsters as they attempt to work their way into the first-team picture at Elland Road.
As last season’s captain of the under-23s Cresswell features regularly over the first two episodes of the show and viewers are able to build up a clear picture of the 20-year-old’s personality and character.
