Here are your latest Leeds United evening headlines for Tuesday, December 6.
Leeds 'enter race' for Moroccan World Cup star
Leeds United are among a number of clubs who are interested in signing Sampdoria and Morocco midfielder Abdelhamid Sabiri, according to La Gazzetta Express.
Olympique Lyonnais and Sevilla are also reportedly among those interested in the 26-year-old. The report adds that Sampdoria could be tempted to sell due to the Italian club being in financial difficulty.
Any deal is expected to be in the form of a loan with an option to buy. Sabiri only joined Sampdoria on a permanent basis in the summer after initially signing on loan back in January.
He has had previous spells at FC Nurnberg, Huddersfield Town, SC Paderborn and Ascoli. The former Germany U21 international is currently playing in Qatar at the 2022 World Cup, and featured in every group game as Morocco progressed to the knockout stages.
Matheus Cunha to Leeds United latest
Leeds United are reportedly in the running to sign Atletico Madrid forward Matheus Cunha ahead of the January window. Cunha is set to be allowed to leave Atletico next month after struggling for game time this season with the likes of Alvaro Morata, Joao Felix, Antoine Griezmann and Angel Correa ahead of him in the pecking order.
Leeds have been linked with a move for Cunha in the past, with reports of their interest in the Brazilian first going public in the summer of 2021. Of course, no move ended up materialising but with the Brazilian seemingly available for transfer again, Leeds may look to rekindle their interest.
A new forward looks set to be on Leeds' list of priorities in January amid the continuation of Patrick Bamford's struggles, with some proper competition required for Rodrigo Moreno. So, amid reports of interest in Cunha, here is a round-up of all the latest regarding a potential transfer.
Latest Premier League rearrangements come and go with Leeds United still in fixture limbo
Leeds United are still awaiting confirmation on when their matches with Manchester United and Nottingham Forest will be played after their postponements in September. The two games were called off as a result of Queen Elizabeth's death but due to the congested nature of the season, a new date has not yet been given by the Premier League.
Leeds' return fixtures with those two sides were moved for TV on Monday, with the trip to Forest set to be shown live on Sky Sports on Sunday 5 February, while the Elland Road clash against the Red Devils will also be screened by the same broadcaster seven days later.
That also means other than the New Year's Eve trip to Newcastle United, the Whites do not have a Saturday 3pm fixture until February 18 away at Everton, with matches in January all having been moved. The aforementioned two games are also likely to be a midweek, though even that could prove tricky to reschedule.
