Here are the latest Leeds United evening headlines on Sunday, 4 December.
Cunha interest
Leeds United are reportedly in the race to sign Atletico Madrid forward Matheus Cunha, according to journalist Matteo Moretto. He claims that the Whites and Everton are currently behind Wolverhampton Wanderers and Aston Villa, with the former pushing hard for his signature.
Leeds were previously interested in Cunha back in the summer of 2021 before the Brazilian made the move to Atletico, where he is already set to be allowed to leave. It appears as though Leeds will be in the market for a new striker in January as Patrick Bamford continues to struggle with injuries.
Bamford injury
Four players were missing from the opening day of Leeds United’s training camp in Spain, with Patrick Bamford in Germany for surgery on a minor groin issue. Illan Meslier, Junior Firpo and Kristoffer Klaesson were also absent from day one.

Goalkeepers Meslier and Klaesson have gone down with viruses. Neither stopper is expected to travel out for the camp, leaving Joel Robles and Dani van den Heuvel as the options between the sticks at Elche on Thursday.
Firpo suffered a minor groin strain on Friday at Thorp Arch, but after some treatment is expected to fly out to Spain for training before the Elche friendly. Luis Sinisterra and Stuart Dallas are with the squad on the continent, but not taking part in full training as they recover from their injury issues.
Adams message
Leeds United midfielder Tyler Adams has issued a defiant statement after he was knocked out of the World Cup with USA on Saturday. Gregg Berhalter's side were beaten 3-1 by Netherlands in the last-16 which marked the end of their journey in the competition.
Despite elimination, it has been a promising few weeks for the States having held England to a 0-0 draw and going unbeaten during the group stages. Many believe that this current crop of players is a 'golden generation' for the country as they look to continue the growth of football back home.
But at this stage it is time for reflection for Adams and co, with the Leeds star writing on his social media that the last few weeks have been an 'honour' and is confident they will be 'back'.
He said: "What a ride. So honoured to be a part of such an amazing team, these boys are something special. Came up short, but the work continues to show the world what we are made of. Thank you everyone for the support in the past weeks it’s meant everything to us. We’ll be back. Better, stronger and together."
