Here are the latest Leeds United evening headlines on Friday, 28 January 2022.
Ramsay race
Leeds United are reportedly leading the race to sign Aberdeen right-back Calvin Ramsay, according to Gianluca di Marzio.
The Whites are said to be battling alongside Serie A side Bologna for his signature, which is his preferred destination as he sees a clearer pathway to the first team.
However, after Bologna offered a loan with an option to buy deal, which has seen Leeds leapfrog them in the queue to sign him.
Reports claim Leeds have placed a £3 million offer for the 18-year-old and would be prepared to loan him back to Pittodrie for the remainder of the season.
Minamino domino effect
Leeds United could benefit from Liverpool’s imminent capture of FC Porto winger Luis Diaz in their pursuit of Takumi Minamino.
The Whites were reported to have had an approach rebuffed by the Reds for Minamino, however with Diaz closing in a move to Anfield, their stance has changed.
Liverpool are now willing to listen to offers for both Minamino and Divock Origi, with Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, Diogo Jota, Roberto Firmino and now Diaz all ahead of them in the pecking order.
Leeds could make a late play for the 27-year-old if Crysencio Summerville departs before the transfer deadline, with interest in his services from both Holland and Germany.

Bridges on Bielsa
Former Leeds United striker Michael Bridges has become the latest person to heap praise on Marcelo Bielsa for the work he has done at Elland Road.
As a coach himself, the Bridges has been mightily impressed with his methods and how he never deviates from his footballing philosophy.
Speaking on the Official Leeds United Podcast, Bridges labelled Bielsa as a ‘genius’ due to the detail he goes into in all aspects of the game.
He said: “Everybody talks about him being a genius and that’s what he is. Everybody that he has worked with or worked under speaks so highly of him.
“What I love about Bielsa is that he knows exactly what he wants to do with the ball, he knows exactly what he wants to do without the ball, he knows what he wants to do in both the transition moments.
“People talk about having a vision and a philosophy as a coach, there are a lot of coaches out there that I believe don’t have that kind of holistic approach like he has, he’s always evolving.”
