Here are the latest Leeds United morning headlines on Wednesday, 21 December 2022.
Jackson on MK Dons list
Leeds United first team coach Mark Jackson is reportedly among the 'final contenders' to take over the vacant managerial role at MK Dons. That is according to journalist Alan Nixon, who claims that a decision is expected soon following the sacking of Liam Manning last week.
Jackson has been at Leeds in a coaching capacity for around seven years now, with his first major role coming in 2020 when he was appointed as the club's U23s manager. Upon Jesse Marsch's arrival in March, Jackson was handed a more prominent first team position and his potential departure would represent a big blow to the Whites.
Adams injury
A deep breath is being taken by Tyler Adams before the second Leeds United push as he shakes off the last of a World Cup calf knock. Qatar and his Manchester City suspension have paved the way for a managed approach to Adams’s New Year’s Eve return.

The 23-year-old was pitchside at Elland Road on Tuesday night as the club opened its doors for supporters to watch an open training session in aid of charity Mission Christmas. As was the case last Friday when Real Sociedad visited, Adams was conspicuous by his absence from the field.
It transpires Adams is not only recuperating from every minute of four, full throttle matches, but also a calf knock he suffered in the Netherlands loss. The USA captain would have been training in front of the fans if he had his way, but Jesse Marsch and the medical staff have taken this chance to give him an extended reset and flush out any issues.
“I just had a little bit of a knock in the last game against Netherlands, just in my calf,” he said. “Just coming back from that a little bit, but not bothering me anymore."

Five things
Who wears the gloves?
Joel Robles has started the first two public friendlies, but Kristoffer Klaesson made a faster-than-anticipated return to the squad on Friday night. The Norwegian was even given the second half of the Real Sociedad clash.
When Robles arrived it was made clear to him and to the public, by Jesse Marsch, he was the experienced, third-choice goalkeeper brought in to mainly be a mentor behind the scenes. There has been nothing on the record to suggest Klaesson has slipped behind Robles beyond the cup match at Molineux last month.
It will be interesting to see which way Marsch goes between the sticks against Monaco. That’s all assuming Illan Meslier hasn’t made a miraculous recovery either.
