Leeds United news as Supporters' Trust 'seek clarification' over clubs' plan following Everton defeat

Here are your Leeds United evening headlines on Sunday, February 19.

Leeds United Supporters' Trust 'seek clarification' from club

Following the 1-0 defeat to Everton at Goodison Park, Leeds United Supporters' Trust have revealed that they are going to "seek clarification" on the club's plans for the remainder of the season.

Seamus Coleman's cross-cum-shot ensured that Everton took all three points from Goodison Park in what was a bitter blow in the Whites' fight against relegation. They now sit just one point ahead of bottom-placed Southampton, who travel to Elland Road next weekend.

Michael Skubala, alongside Chris Armas and Paco Gallardo, have led the side since Jesse Marsch was sacked nearly two years ago and now the LUFC Trust will demand clarity on the club's direction during an upcoming Supporters Advisory Board meeting.

Taking to social media, they wrote: "Along with other fans, we will be attending the club’s Supporters Advisory Board meeting this week. The club are well aware of fan anger and frustrations, we will continue to seek clarification on what the plans are for the rest of the season."

Alan Shearer blasts ‘clueless’ Leeds United

Alan Shearer has ripped apart Leeds United for their wastefulness up front against Everton. The Whites failed to manage a single shot on target at Goodison Park, losing 1-0 in a crucial six-pointer.

Relegation reality started to kick in at the full-time whistle as Leeds plummeted into the drop zone for the first time this season. Everton, on the other hand, leapfrogged a managerless United to clinch their second win under Sean Dyche.

Scoring goals has proven difficult for Leeds in recent weeks. For context, the Whites have fired a blank in four of their last five top-flight fixtures.

Leeds United told to appoint Celtic's Postecoglou but 'they've left it late'

Former Leeds United goalkeeper Paul Robinson has warned the Whites they don't need a project they need a short-term fix to keep them in the Premier League. The club is entering a third week without a permanent manager, after parting company with Jesse Marsch following defeat to Nottingham Forest.

A whole host of names have been linked with Elland Road including a shock link with Harry Redknapp. The former Tottenham Hotspur boss has since distanced himself from the role, with Michael Skubala set to take the reins for the next few games.

Robinson says his side should be going all out to appoint Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou given his success in Scotland, but accepts the club has left it too late.
