Simon Jordan says Daniel Farke an 'okay appointment'
Former Crystal Palace owner Simon Jordan believes Daniel Farke's appointment is an 'okay' one that gives Leeds United a shot at getting out of the Championship. The White are among the early favourites to win promotion before a ball has even been kicked, but Farke has plenty of tough calls to make at Thorp Arch and Elland Road this week.
“I thought he was good when at Norwich," Jordan told talkSPORT. "They gave him time. I think it’s an okay appointment. He did a decent job [at Norwich]. It’s okay, it’s got sense to it. It’s not a half-baked appointment like the Jesse Marsch appointment.

“This guy has got out of the Championship, and Leeds should be in the business of getting out of the Championship while the parachute payments are available. He gives them a chance."
Daniel Farke has already given major hint on Daniel James' Leeds United future
New Leeds United boss Daniel Farke may have just walked through the door at Elland Road but his preparations for the 2023/23 Championship campaign will have already begun. The German head coach will take charge of pre-season after a long-awaited appointment.
The Whites are looking to bounce back to the Premier League at the first time of asking and will be under the guidance of a two-time promotion winner in Farke. Leeds and their soon to be new hierarchy have a number of important decisions to make - none more important than the future of a number of first-team players.
A large chunk of the first-team squad have been linked with moves away from Elland Road, while Farke must also decide who to build his team around next season. One player with a big question mark over his head, is Wales international Daniel James.
The former Swansea City forward burst onto the scene in the Championship and earned a move to Manchester United, prior to his Elland Road switch. It was during his time at the Liberty Stadium that Farke came across the Welshman and is a huge admirer.

Personalities and visions in Leeds United’s boardroom had to be sold to Daniel Farke while he was supposed to be pitching himself as the club’s new manager. Yesterday, the German finally signed on the dotted line at Elland Road with a four-year contract.
It was a process which found him at the top of the pile throughout, despite some excellent in-person interviews from rival candidates. Farke’s confidence and belief in his own ability proved alluring for Paraag Marathe and Angus Kinnear, who led the manager hunt.
Farke has reflected on the interview process and said, far from advertising himself, he wanted to see what kind of people Marathe and Kinnear were. The former Norwich City boss wanted to know if they saw the same project as him if he committed to taking the job.
“No one had to convince me about the potential of the club and the size of the club and what we can perhaps achieve in the mid and the long term,” he said. “For me, it was more important I was 100 per cent convinced of the key people here because we have never met before, we never spoke [as] that quite intense [as before]."

Daniel Farke may have just taken up the reins at Elland Road but knows there's no time to waste in preparing Leeds United for their Championship return. The two-time promotion winner with Norwich City knows exactly what it takes to win promotion back to the Premier League from the second tier.
However, unlike his time with the Canaries, Leeds are in a much more unstable position. The Whites are still waiting on approval from the EFL for Andrea Radrizzani to relinquish control and hand it over to 49ers Enterprises.
The takeover will bring new faces to the boardroom and take time to get up to full speed. However, Leeds don't have an abundance of time on their hands as they plot an immediate return to the Premier League.
Transfers, both incomings and outgoings, have yet to take off with the takeover impacting the club's ability to wheel and deal. Nonetheless, Leeds supporters have had their say on who the new head coach should look to move on from the club this summer.
Former Norwich City winger sounds Daniel Farke 'work extremely hard' warning to Leeds United
Former Norwich City winger Matt Jarvis has told Leeds United what to expect from new head coach Daniel Farke, saying the players will ‘know pretty quickly’ exactly what the German wants from them.
Jarvis was part of Farke’s Canaries side for the first two years of his reign at Carrow Road, and although he never actually made a competitive appearance under the new Whites boss, he saw first hand how Farke set about implementing his playing style into the squad and inspired them to win the Championship in his second season in charge.
The winger told BBC Radio Leeds: “For me, first impressions…he was very calm, softly spoken, obviously he had the slicked-back hair at the time. He came into the changing rooms, sat down and had the meeting with us – but it’s not until you get outside and you get on the training pitch that you start seeing the work that he would put in.
“You work extremely hard on the training field – longer than I was used to I suppose – but tactically very astute. He completely knows exactly how he wants his teams and his players to play in a system, the type of passing and the movement from the players. I think the Leeds boys will know pretty quickly what his methods are and what his coaching staff will ask of them.”
