Here are the latest Leeds United evening headlines on Thursday, 27 January 2022.
Aaronson update
Leeds United are reportedly hopeful of completing a deal for Red Bull Salzburg midfielder Brenden Aaronson, but it may have to wait until the summer.
That is according to TeamTalk, who claim that the Whites’ hierarchy are prepared to concede defeat on making Aaronson a Leeds player before the end of the current window.
Leeds have made two separate bids for the 21-year-old, with the latest one believed to be in the region of £20 million.
Salzburg, though, are remaining strong in their stance that he is not for sale at this point of the season, despite Aaronson’s interest in a move to the Premier League.
Harrison nomination
Leeds United winger Jack Harrison has been nominated for January’s Premier League player of the month award.
Harrison has scored four goals in three matches for the Whites, including a hattrick in the 3-2 win at West Ham United.
The 25-year-old also netted the opener in the 3-1 victory over Burnley, which incidentally was his first of the season.
The other nominees are: Jarrod Bowen, Kevin De Bruyne, David de Gea, Joao Moutinho and James Ward-Prowse.

Bridges’ injury hell
Former Leeds United striker Michael Bridges has opened up on the injury hell he went through during his time at the club.
Bridges suffered two major injuries while at Elland Road, with the first coming in a Champions League tie against Besiktas, when he suffered a horrific dislocated ankle.
After his arrival from Sunderland in 1999, Bridges hit the ground running and in his debut season at the club, he scored 19 goals.
But from then onwards, his Whites career was plagued by fitness problems and speaking on the latest episode of the Official Leeds United Podcast, he opened up on the struggles he was faced with as a result of the injury.
He said: “The toughest part to handle was the initial injury over in Besiktas,” he claimed. “We didn’t know the extent of the damage, Dave Hancock was the physio at the time and he saved my career.
“The scary part about the injury, they didn’t know much damage I’d done. It wasn’t until three days later, we were waiting for the swelling to go down in my leg so I could have an MRI scan but it was actually getting bigger, I had an internal bleed in my leg.
“The bottom half of my leg up to my calf had actually gone black overnight and I was rushed in to get it done.”
