Ralph Hasenhuttl tipped to keep Leeds United 'afloat' amid Michael Skubala debate
Leeds United have been told that former Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttl would be able to keep them in the Premier League if they looked his way after confirming interim boss Michael Skubala would continue as manager for the short-term.
The club has found it increasingly difficult to bring in a permanent addition to the dugout since relieving Jesse Marsch of his duties nine days ago and appear to have been rejected by many of their top candidates for the role.
But former Premier League striker Darren Bent believes that the Austrian, who has been out of work since November, would be their perfect candidate to stay in the Premier League next season.
"I like Ralph," Bent told talkSPORT yesterday afternoon. "I really like Ralph. When you look at Ralph’s record (at Southampton), and the things he had to deal with in that time.
"He lost people like Danny Ings, his goalscorer. [Jannick] Vestergaard, [Pierre-Emile] Hojbjerg. Good players! And the investment that came into these players wasn’t really there. He lost key players and he still kept them afloat. I think, if you’re Leeds and you get Ralph, I’d be happy. I’d back Leeds to stay up [under Hasenhuttl]."
Simon Jordan slams Leeds United owners amid new manager pursuit
Simon Jordan has slammed Leeds United's owners and labelled the running of the club as "a dog's dinner" amid their bid to find a new manager.
Leeds chairman Andrea Radrizzani remains the majority shareholder at the club, but 49ers Enterprises - the investment arm of NFL side the San Francisco 49ers - have a 44% stake. It is thought that they could well be taking full ownership at some point in the near future.
In the short-term, the Whites are looking to find a new manager to help steer their battle with relegation this term and have so far failed to find a replacement for Jesse Marsch. The American was sacked over a week ago and a handful of names have been tipped to replace him, yet none have materialised.
Leeds United told why Everton clash favours them as Gary Neville makes 'pressure' admission
Former Manchester United defender Gary Neville has claimed that there is more pressure on Everton to win than Leeds United when the two sides meet in the Premier League this weekend.
Leeds know that a win against the Toffees would see them move four points clear of their opponents. Even more importantly, it would open up a four point gap between them and the relegation zone - should Bournemouth lose to Wolves.
Sean Dyche's side lost 2-0 to Liverpool at Anfield on Monday night, as they failed to repeat their heroics that saw them claim victory over Arsenal in the Premier League last week.
