Here are the Leeds United evening headlines on Tuesday, December 20.
Premier League rivals 'very close' to pipping Leeds United to January target
Wolverhampton Wanderers are 'very close' to beating out Leeds United for a priority target in the January transfer window as both clubs try to sign Atletico Madrid striker Matheus Cunha.
Cunha has attracted a lot of interest from numerous Premier League clubs, despite having not scored yet this season for the La Liga club who are reportedly 'desperate' to get him off their books.
Both Wolves and Leeds have been noted as interested parties along wit Arsenal, Everton and Aston Villa. Taking to social media, however, transfer journalist Alex Crook seemed to suggest that the Whites might miss out on the 23-year-old.
Earlier today, he tweeted: "#Wolves very close to signing Atletico Madrid forward Matheus Cunha. More on @talkSPORT" before continuing by saying, "Understand this is likely to be a loan move initially with the permanent fee rising to as much as £40m #Wolves."
The three Monaco stars Jesse Marsch and Leeds United will prepare for before Wednesday clash
Leeds United are currently undefeated during the winter break after finding a small patch of form towards the start of November and will look to continue that form against Monaco at Elland Road on Wednesday.
However, the Ligue 1 side will not be easy opponents to blow over - despite them winning just one of their three friendlies during the same period.
Jesse Marsch and his staff will still be wary of a few key players that might make the difference against the Whites so here are three players which they'll need to prepare for to make sure Leeds complete an unbeaten winter break.
Leeds United January target snuffs transfer rumours, insists he's '100% committed' to his club
Leeds United transfer target and Newcastle striker Chris Wood has insisted he is '100% committed' to the Magpies' for the rest of his contract, essentially ending any chance of him joining the Whites next month.
The New Zealand man only swapped Turf Moor for St. James' Park just under a year ago but has fallen down the pecking order under Eddie Howe after impressive showings from Callum Wilson and a reported £70m move for Alexandar Isak.
Wood told the Chronicle Live that he wants to see out the rest of his contract which ends in 2024: "100% - especially with the way the clubs is going, I'd love to be here long-term. Or even longer than I will be.
