Here are your Leeds United morning headlines for Thursday, November 17.
Paul Robinson makes 'huge' Cody Drameh transfer claim
Former Leeds United and England goalkeeper Paul Robinson has called for Whites right-back Cody Drameh to leave Elland Road and find somewhere where he'll have a 'better opportunity'.
Drameh has only played one senior appearance for the club in the league this season - where he was hooked after 70 minutes in a 5-2 loss to Brentford - and is now believed to be looking for an exit away from Yorkshire.
After reports from transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano earlier this week about significant interest in Drameh from a series of Bundesliga teams, Robinson's comments highlight how little he's played for the Whites this season.
"[Jesse] Marsch isn’t using him at all. He’s barely been in the squad and he wasn’t in the squad at the weekend," Robinson told MOT Leeds News.
"For him to go there (Dortmund), the important thing would be for him to play. But if he stays at Leeds, he might not play.
"If he’s got the chance to go to Dortmund and play in the Bundesliga every week, it’s a huge opportunity and a far better opportunity than he’s got at Leeds.
"But there’s no point in him going somewhere else to do the same thing he’s doing at Leeds, which is sitting there and not playing."
Leeds United's overperforming transfer figure as Victor Orta's busy summer window yields early returns
Leeds United are outperforming their net spend so far this season, according to figures from tranfermarkt.co.uk.
With the £52.2m sale of Raphinha, Leeds actually turned a small profit of £1.75m since the start of January, despite signing Brenden Aaronson for £29.56m.
This means Leeds rank 17th for net spend in the 2022 summer window, with only Manchester City, Brighton and Leicester City spending less than the Yorkshire club.
But with Leeds sat 15th in the table, they are actually performing above their net spend ranking so far this year.
De Ketelaere, Gakpo, Dieng - How the transfer targets Leeds United missed out on are faring
Based on the opening 14 matches, it would be fair to say that Leeds United's summer transfer window was overall, a successful one. The Whites brought in six new first-team players, as well as a number of talented youngsters in order to give the squad somewhat of a refresh.
Tyler Adams, Marc Roca, Brenden Aaronson, Luis Sinisterra and Rasmus Kristensen have all proved to be solid pieces of business, particularly the first four who very much hit the ground running. Darko Gyabi, Sonny Perkins and Wilfried Gnonto are the three younger players to arrive, all of whom have already made their full debuts, with the latter already making an impact in league matches.
That said, the summer could've also been even more productive for Leeds after missing out on a number of high-profile targets. So, with the World Cup break now upon us, here is a look at how four of them have started the season following their failed moves to West Yorkshire.
