Merson reacts to Stelling claim
Paul Merson was left shocked after Jeff Stelling claimed that Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips is on just '25k-a-week'. The former Arsenal man added that he could 'do a better job' than his agent at the moment.
Phillips made his return to action after a four-month absence during Leeds' 1-1 draw with Southampton on Saturday. He came on in the second-half to a raucous reception and managed to get a good 25 minutes under his belt as the Whites stretched their unbeaten run to three games.
It was a result that moved Leeds eight points clear of the relegation zone after Watford, Burnley and Everton all lost, but Phillips' return will give the Whites a massive boost. And when discussing the 26-year-old and his future, Stelling and Merson both shared their views on Sky Sports.
"Leeds have got some big decisions to make on the likes of Kalvin Phillips, who says he wants to stay," said Stelling. "But I was reading this week that he is on £25k-a-week, which in comparison to all those teammates who gather for England and such like.

"I don’t know whether England teammates talk about their wages or not. If he is, then he might be thinking he might want to be doubling his or trebling his wages."
Merson responded: "He needs to ring me. I could be his agent and I could do a better job. Seriously, he can’t be on that."
Grealish makes Phillips remark
Jack Grealish roasted England teammate Kalvin Phillips on social media tonight after the Leeds United midfielder was spotted in bizarre footwear earlier this week. Phillips returned to the pitch for Leeds United today, coming on as a substitute for nearly half an hour.
Although Phillips could not turn the 1-1 draw into a win, it was a step back to full fitness after a long injury. To mark the occasion, Phillips used his social media accounts to send a message to fans. Manchester City's Jack Grealish then responded about a slightly different subject.
The focus of Grealish's attention was a photograph which appeared on Twitter this week showing Philipps wearing an enormous pair of yellow boots. Or what seemed like boots. Some fans suggested Phillips looked like he was wearing a pair of Cornish pasties. Another thought Phillips looked like he had borrowed some boots from Mr Noisy in the Mr Men books.
Hasenhuttl's chances created claim
Ralph Hasenhuttl claims Southampton were left to rue their missed chances and had the "better" of them as the Saints shared the spoils at Elland Road. Leeds United took the lead just before the half hour mark through Jack Harrison but were pegged back by a stunning James Ward-Prowse free-kick after the restart.
The Southampton boss claims the tight affair was to be expected and felt aggrieved that a foul was not given on Armando Broja in the lead up to Harrison's opener. Hasenhuttl was not overly harsh on the referee and claims his side should have defended better.
Speaking to Hampshire Live, the Saints boss said: "I think it was an expected game today. I spoke before the game about that it would be sometimes a bit ping-pong because of two teams who like to play quick forward. We tried to avoid playing in our own half today because we knew the pressing would be an intense one, we don't have a lot of time.
"We tried to play stuff what hurts us normally because the behaviour from them is very similar to ours. I think it worked quite well as we had more chances today, the better ones and I think we have been closer to win this game but in the end we have to take the point. It's a good step forward in such an intense atmosphere and intense game to go away with a point here is ok."
