Here are the latest Leeds United morning headlines on Wednesday, April 13.
Marsch a ‘winner’
Philadelphia Union manager Jim Curtin has labelled Leeds United boss Jesse Marsch as a ‘winner’ following his start to life in England. Curtin knows the 48-year-old well from his time in the MLS as his Union side will have come up against Marsch’s New York Red Bulls outfit on several occasions during his three-year spell there.
Following spells at RB Salzburg and Leipzig, Marsch arrived at Leeds in March with the task of maintaining their Premier League status. And Curtin has ‘full confidence’ that he will achieve that target due to his winning mentality.
Speaking to the MLS website, he said: “I can say with confidence: Leeds fans should know they’re in the hands of someone who wants nothing more than to win. He wants nothing more than to improve the players.

“I have no doubt he can keep them up and I have full confidence he’ll do it. The biggest compliment I can give is that Jesse Marsch is a winner, he has been from day one, and always will be.”
Leeds learn key PL dates
Leeds United will find out their Premier League fixture list for the 2022/23 season on Thursday, June 16, if they stave off relegation this campaign. The Whites are currently nine points clear of the bottom three with just six games to go until the curtain falls.
The win over Watford, combined with Burnley's defeat at Norwich, has seen Leeds move a step closer to safety, but fans know one or two more wins would give them that peace of mind. The 2022-23 season will be a slightly different campaign given the winter World Cup in Qatar with the season beginning a little earlier, on the weekend of August 6, 2022.

Gelhardt rallies for U23s clash
Supporters are being rallied by Joe Gelhardt to show their support for Leeds United’s under-23 side as they prepare to host Manchester City at Elland Road next week. Momentum is building with tickets now on general sale for the last Premier League 2 home match of the season as the Whites eye the division’s attendance record of 16,935.
Gelhardt’s exposure to first-team football, along with the injury issues he has suffered this year, have meant he has played less under-23 football than usual. Despite that, he has had plenty of experiences with the second-string in front of a rocking Elland Road and believes even going for the record underlines the level of support the club has.
He said: “To even have the ambition to break that level. We’ve had 10,000 something against Man United, Liverpool and we played against Palace, and I don’t even think it got advertised everywhere, and it was nearly 5,000 or more there.
“It just shows how unreal the support is. I’ve never had that at under-23 level, I’ve never seen that type of support and that just shows how good the fans are.”
