Leeds United news as Marcelo Bielsa 'contingency plan' drawn up, Drameh hails Morison influence

Here are the latest Leeds United evening headlines on Thursday, 10 February.

Bielsa 'contingency plan'

Leeds United have reportedly started work on a contingency plan if Marcelo Bielsa decides to not to sign a new contract this summer.

The Telegraph claim that Victor Orta has drawn up a three-man shortlist consisting of Ernesto Valverde, Jesse Marsch and Carlos Corberan.

The report also states that while Leeds are keen for Bielsa to stay, his one-year rolling contracts continue to make it uncertain.

Marsch and Valverde are both currently without a club having most recently managed RB Leipzig and Barcelona respectively, while former Whites assistant Corberan is currently managing Huddersfield Town.

Moments missed

Leeds United returned following the winter break with a highly eventful 3-3 draw at Aston Villa on Wednesday night.

The Whites recovered from 3-1 down to earn a point thanks to a brace from Daniel James and Diego Llorente ’s second goal of the season.

Games between Villa and Leeds, particularly in the West Midlands, have offered up some classics in recent seasons.

And yesterday was certainly no different, but amidst all the drama, click here to take a look at some of the moments you may have missed.

Drameh on Morison influence

Leeds United loanee Cody Drameh produced another superb performance for Cardiff City on Wednesday night in their 4-0 win over Peterborough United.

Drameh registered his first assist for the club as the Bluebirds ran riot in a crucial encounter at the bottom of the table.

Speaking after the match, Drameh was full of praise for Cardiff boss Steve Morison, who he believes has brought out the best in him, particularly the attacking aspect of his game.

He said: "Credit to Steve as well for bringing the best out of me," began the 20-year-old.

“I had a meeting before my first game. We went through a few clips and the emphasis was on being positive in attack, getting after the left-back or left-winger. Attacking-wise, he’s brought a lot out of me and filled me with a lot of confidence to go and express myself. He’s given me the freedom to play.”
