Here are the latest Leeds United morning headlines on Monday, 31 January.
Liverpool close on Carvalho
Liverpool are closing in on the signing of highly-rated Fulham attacking midfielder Fabio Carvalho for a fee in the region of €7 million.
That is according to Fabrizio Romano, who claims that the deal is in the final stages as the Reds beat the likes of Leeds United and West Ham to his signature.
Leeds have been mentioned on several occasions in relation to the race for Carvalho but it appears as though he will be heading to Merseyside.
Upon the completion of the deal, Carvalho is expected to return to Fulham on loan for the season as they continue their promotion push.

Deadline day state of play
With their pursuit of number one target Brenden Aaronson having hit a brick wall, it is unlikely that Leeds United will be too busy today.
Despite reported £50 million bids from West Ham for both Kalvin Phillips and Raphinha, the Whites shouldn’t have too many issues keeping hold of their prized assets.
Leeds could be in the market for another winger, although that heavily depends on whether Crysencio Summerville secures a move away.
A number two goalkeeper could also be on the cards as Leeds seek to provide Illan Meslier with more reliable cover.

Aaronson turns out for USA
Leeds United target Brenden Aaronson suffered disappointment on international duty with USA as they were defeated 2-0 by Canada.
Aaronson played 69 minutes as the States were undone by goals from Cyle Larin and Sam Adekugbe.
On a personal level, Aaronson produced a decent attacking performance for his side, completing three dribbles, making one key pass and taking two shots.
USA remain second in the CONCACAF World Cup qualification table but are now four points adrift of Canada following yesterday’s defeat.
