Marc Roca praises 'incredible' Joel Robles despite waiting for Whites' debut
Leeds United midfielder has heaped praise on fellow Spaniard Joel Robles for his contribution to the club. The veteran Whites goalkeeper is yet to make his debut for the club having signed earlier this summer.
The former Everton shot stopper signed from Real Betis on a free transfer having helped the La Liga side win the Cope del Rey in 2020-21. Roca claims the goalkeeper is a big part of the Leeds dressing room and he's helped ease other players in to the club.
Speaking to Spanish media, Roca said: “Joel Robles is an incredible teacher. He is here with us, he is contributing everything he can. He is very happy to be with this group, as a Spaniard for me, the transition has been very, very easy with players like Joel at the club.”
Full Leeds United injury list as key player expected to be ruled out until after World Cup
Leeds United have suffered an injury setback ahead of Saturday's match with Bournemouth as Luis Sinisterra's injury is worse than first feared. Sinisterra missed last weekend's win over Liverpool with a foot injury and is now set to be out until after the World Cup break after further scans.
Leeds will be looking to make it back-to-back wins for the first time this season against the Cherries, after ending their eight-match winless run at Anfield. Bournemouth, meanwhile, have been on a downward spiral of their own in recent weeks, losing each of their last three in the Premier League.
Following on from Jesse Marsch's press conference on Thursday, here is a full list of Leeds' injuries with potential return dates.
Jesse Marsch's Leeds United leadership council help after player meeting
Jesse Marsch has opened up on the key role the members of his Leeds United leadership council have played over the last few months at Thorp Arch. The head coach put together a leadership group shortly after arriving in West Yorkshire last season and he admits he has felt the need to lean on the six men for help recently.
Skipper Liam Cooper heads up the experienced pack, which also features Luke Ayling, Rodrigo, Patrick Bamford, Stuart Dallas and Adam Forshaw. Unfortunately, all six players involved have struggled with injuries this Premier League season and that has limited their collective impact on the field of play.
However, despite their respective concerns, they have had a vital role to play off the pitch this season. After rounding them up for a meeting in the club’s new training ground press room recently, Marsch called on those involved to help him pull the club out of their eight-game winless streak.
Former Leeds United youngster already attracting interest as Whites 'hold key clause'
Elia Caprile is already attracting interest from clubs, following his summer move from Leeds United, according to reports in Italy. The goalkeeper left Elland Road to join newly promoted Bari for a minimal fee back in July and it seems his form in Serie B has caught the eye.
According to Italian news outlet Tutto Bari, the club’s resolve could be tested in the January transfer window with interest coming from a number of sides. The report claims Bari will attempt to resist losing Caprile, but their hand may be forced should a lucrative offer be made.
If the Italian was to move from Bari over the winter, Leeds would reportedly stand to receive 50 per cent of the fee. Having impressed on loan with Pro Patria last season, Caprile stepped straight into the Bari starting XI and so far he has made 13 appearances as the club compete for a play-off spot.
