Here are your Leeds United evening headlines on Monday, January 31.
Berardi joins FC Sion
Following his departure from Leeds United last summer, Gaetano Berardi has finally found a new club on deadline day of the January transfer window.
The 33-year-old has signed a short-term deal with Swiss Super League outfit FC Sion until the end of the season.
Sion - who compete in Switzerland's top flight - are currently placed sixth in the league and based in the south of the Alpine country.
Berardi has been rewarded with a contract until the end of the 2021/22 season following a successful trial period with the two-time Swiss champions.
He has not played competitively since his Elland Road farewell in May last year, when the former Swiss international bid an emotional goodbye to his home of seven seasons in West Yorkshire.
A statement on FC Sion's website reads : "FC Sion is pleased to announce the commitment of Gaetano Berardi until the end of the current season! The Ticino defender signed up after convincing the Valais leaders during his month of trial."

Jordan slams West Ham owners
TalkSPORT pundit Simon Jordan has criticised West Ham United co-owner David Sullivan for their pursuit of Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips.
The Hammers reportedly made a bid of £50 million for Phillips over the weekend as they look to strengthen their squad for the second half of the season.
Phillips has been the subject of interest from a number of the Premier League’s biggest clubs, including the Manchester clubs and Liverpool, however news of West Ham’s bid came out of the blue.
And speaking on talkSPORT this morning, former Crystal Palace owner Jordan has questioned whether the Hammers ever actually submitted the bid for Phillips with any expectation that it was going to be accepted.
He said: “First of all, the players got two and a half years left on his contract. This is a standard way of operating for Sullivan. Who in God’s name told them that Kalvin Phillips was ready to go to West Ham and wants to go to West Ham?
“And on what basis have they gone in for a £50 million player that was never going to go in the first place. We can all bid for players and make sure the media are aware of our ambitions without actually being able to conclude them.”
Summerville's Hamburg loan collapses
Leeds United have endured something of a quiet transfer window this month, with no senior incomings or outgoings.
Cody Drameh's loan switch to Cardiff City has yielded regular playing time for the U23 right-back, while there have also been suggestions that Crysencio Summerville could head out on loan to 2. Bundesliga club Hamburger SV.
While the German club did hold a serious interest in the player, that move has now reportedly collapsed, as per Fabrizio Romano.
The Italian journalist shared an update earlier today on the Leeds winger's situation, indicating a loan move had collapsed, in connection with the Whites' inability to bring in Takumi Minamino.
It was assumed Minamino - or another attacking player's addition - could have facilitated Summerville's exit.
However, with that unlikely to be the case, Marcelo Bielsa is keen to keep his squad as strong as possible in light of the club's injury crisis throughout the 2021/22 season.
