Leeds United news as Eintracht Frankfurt loan fee and wage split 'revealed' amid Robin Koch loan

Here are your evening Leeds United headlines on Friday, July 7.

Robin Koch loan fee emerges

Leeds United have received a £500,000 loan fee from Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt after they signed Germany international Robin Koch on a season-long loan deal.

That is according to BILD, who claim the 2022 Europa League winners will also pay the entirety of Koch's wages for the 2023/2024 season.

Koch has likely played his last game for Leeds with his contract set to expire at the end of next season. He joined United back in 2020 from Freiburg.

Leeds United have sealed the first deal in their summer transfer transformation

Shedding last season’s top-flight demise finally began at Leeds United last night. Robin Koch is the first of those players with a significant hand in May’s relegation to jump ship before it lands in the Championship.

Koch, in fact, played more minutes than anyone else for Leeds last season in a defence which conceded more goals than any other team. As a 26-year-old with designs on caps for a World Cup-winning national team and one year left on his contract, Koch was always on the list of likely departures this summer.

If you believe the speculation he was in high demand too. Koch’s representatives were not shy in putting his name about to drum up interest in his services. Ultimately, it’s the Bundesliga seventh’s best team, Eintracht Frankfurt, a Europa Conference League play-off round and a new home within 70 miles of his birthplace that awaits Koch.

Leeds were just as open to Koch leaving as he was. There was not a huge amount of resistance to seeing another club pick up 100 per cent of his sizeable salary, as well as a loan fee, two months before the end of the transfer window.

Premier League side Everton are looking to cash in on Wilfried Gnonto wanting to leave Leeds United this summer. That's according to TalkSPORT who claim the Toffees are looking to bolster their attack with the Whites forward following the club's relegation from the Premier League.

According to the report, Gnonto is looking for a move away from Elland Road this summer and the Toffees are looking to negotiate a bargain fee. The 19-year-old, who signed for the Whites for a fee believed to be around the £4million mark last summer, is not believed to have a relegation release clause in his deal.
