Leeds United news as Crystal Palace move for Ismaila Sarr and Amazon documentary date confirmed

Here are the latest Leeds United headlines for Wednesday, August 17.

Crystal Palace join race for Leeds-linked forward

Crystal Palace are working on a deal to sign Leeds target Ismaila Sarr, according to The Athletic. The Whites have been linked with the Watford forward, who was not part of the Hornets' squad for their draw at Birmingham City on Tuesday evening.

The report states that Palace haven't yet submitted an official offer for Sarr, but they are keen to add him to their squad before September 1. Negotiations between Palace and Sarr's representatives have been going on for weeks.

A report from French publication Foot Mercato last week claimed that Leeds were close to negotiating a deal for Sarr, with the move hinging on a departure from Elland Road.

Whites confirm release date for Amazon documentary

Leeds United will once again feature on Amazon Prime for a six-point docuseries covering the academy at Thorp Arch. Academy Dreams: Leeds United will be a fly on the wall series covering the 2021-22 season.

Narrated by Vinnie Jones and produced by ELEVEN Group’s NEO Studios, the series will air on September 23 showcasing the young talents coming through the conveyor belt. Seaman makes Leeds transfer claim

Former Arsenal goalkeeper David Seaman believes Leeds United still have work to do in the transfer market. The Whites have started the season in positive fashion with four points from their first two matches but squandered a two-goal lead at Southampton on Saturday.

Some familiar issues resurfaced at St. Mary’s as Patrick Bamford limped off injured in the first half, while Joe Gelhardt missed out completely due to an issue picked up in training. Leeds have been ‘evaluating’ their options in the market for a striker throughout the summer, and may have to accelerate their pursuit to avoid a repeat of last season.

Speaking on his Seaman Saves Podcast, Seaman believes Leeds must enter to the market to take some of the pressure off Bamford’s fitness. He said: “For Leeds, I still feel they need to do a little bit more business, especially with Bamford now, he got injured again.
