Here are the latest Leeds United morning headlines on Monday, 28 February.
Leeds warned of potential 'toxicity'
Pundit Chris Sutton has warned that there will be a 'real feeling of toxicity' towards the Leeds United board if the club are relegated following the sacking of Marcelo Bielsa.
The club took the decision to part company with the popular Argentine following the 4-0 home defeat to Tottenham Hotspur but former Celtic forward Sutton has questioned whether it was the right decision and outlined a potential consequence of the call.
Writing for Mail Online, he said: "I’m not sure getting rid of him was the right move to make, in truth. There is a heap of pressure on Leeds to survive now under his replacement. You only needed to look at the reaction of the fans to understand what Bielsa means to them.
"You can’t sack this beloved boss and still go down. That’s just not an option. If that happens, there will be a real feeling of toxicity towards the board. Bielsa got Leeds through tough spells in the past."
Marsch appointment could provide transfer benefit
According to reports, American coach Jesse Marsch looks set to be appointed as Marcelo Bielsa's successor at Leeds United.
The 48-year-old has worked for various clubs in the Red Bull network and was most recently in charge of RB Leipzig in Germany but it appears as if his next challenge will be in the Premier League.
Interestingly, whilst head coach of Austrian side Red Bull Salzburg, he worked closely with Brenden Aaronson, a player the Whites reportedly pursued in the January transfer window.
If Marsch is appointed as expected, it could help Leeds land Aaronson if they do opt to chase him in the summer transfer window.
Bielsa successor must relish comparisons
Stepping into a role vacated by a popular head coach is never easy but replacing one adored by an entire city is incredibly difficult.
Former RB Leipzig boss Jesse Marsch is reportedly close to being appointed as the Argentine's heir and if he does land the job, will face the daunting task of winning over a city in mourning.
He would also be working with several players who had their careers transformed and lives changed by Bielsa, therefore comparisons with his predecessor would be hard to avoid.
However, it is something the heir will have to take in their stride as a trip to Leicester City looms and an immediate impact will be required.
