Leeds United news as Ange Postecoglou 'tied to chair' amid Whites interest plus Arne Slot snub

Here are the Leeds United evening headlines on Friday, February 10.

Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou 'tied to chair' amid Leeds United interest

Celtic's assistant manager John Kennedy has joked that Ange Postecoglou is tied to a chair amid Leeds United's reported interest in the Hoops manager.

Postecoglou has been linked with the current vacancy at Elland Road as the club look to replace Jesse Marsch. Yet speaking to the media ahead of Celtic's clash with St Mirren, Kennedy made it clear that their head coach is not going anywhere.

"We've tied him to the chair upstairs and got a couple of security guards at his door," Kennedy joked. "Listen, there's always speculation and it's credit to the manager in terms of the job he's done here. It's a bit like players, when they do well they get linked to other clubs.

"I think the manager has shown his abilities as a manager. When you do that and you have success with that, you attract attention and that's what's happened. But ultimately it's a lot of speculation. That's what it is. There's a lot of noise but I know firsthand the way he works.

"He's really focused on his job here, he loves being here and he's in the middle of building something very special so I think his mind is firmly focused on being at Celtic and doing the best he can here."

Leeds United dealt manager blow as Arne Slot rules out move to 'wonderful' Whites

Feyenoord manager Arne Slot has confirmed that he will not leave the Dutch side mid-season despite admitting that Leeds United's interest in him "was a compliment".

Leeds have reportedly been eager to tempt Slot away from the Eredivisie and into the top job at Elland Road to replace the now departed Jesse Marsch. The Dutch coach has caught the attention of the Whites following Feyenoord's incredible league campaign that sees them top of the table with only one defeat all season.

The fast and aggressive football that Slot plays has been likened to that of Marcelo Bielsa and many had tipped the 44-year-old to go on to replicate a similar style of football that fans had seen from the legendary Argentine boss.

Michael Skubala issues Leeds United injury update with several doubts for Man United clash

Pascal Struijk will miss Leeds United's home clash against Manchester United at Elland Road on Sunday due to a concussion. The Dutchman was forced off after only 15 minutes when he sustained a head injury from blocking a Marcus Rashford shot.

Leeds caretaker boss Michael Skubala has confirmed that the medical staff are following the concussion protocol rules and says it's the right decision for Struijk not to play.

"The long-term injuries are progressing well. They are the same," Skubala said in his pre-match press conference.
