Leeds United news as Ange Postecoglou lifts lid on Whites links as squad revealed for Man United

Here are your Leeds United morning headlines on Sunday, February 12.

Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou addresses Leeds United links

Ange Postecoglou has been heavily linked with the current managerial vacancy at Elland Road. A week has nearly passed since Jesse Marsch's departure and the club appear to be fond admirers of the Greek-Australian coach leading the charge for Celtic this season.

And after assistant manager John Kennedy joked that Postecoglou had been 'tied to a chair' amid his links with the Leeds top job, the Celtic boss has now has hid say on the matter.

"Bizarre. Anyone that's seen the size of John [Kennedy], we don't need security. Whatever he wants I'll pretty much do," Postecoglou said in reply to Kennedy's comments.

"I'm focused on what we're doing here and I just thought it was a good week for us to focus on training. John's a very, very capable guy and handles the media well and I thought I'd have a break from everyone and everyone can have a break from me.

"I don't think fans need a message from me. What the fans need is me to keep making sure that our football club represents them the right way. That's my responsibility. If you've got a player that's getting a lot of attention the first thing you're going to say to him is 'just keep playing well, don't worry about anything else.'

"I'm old enough now to know that football changes very quickly. I'm pretty blessed to be in the position I am, working for a special football club. I'm never going to lose sight of that, my main responsibility is making sure I prepare the team for a game."

Five things to look out for ahead of Leeds United vs Manchester United

Defensive shake-up?

Pascal Struijk’s concussion has ruled him out of Leeds United contention for this afternoon’s match, but how he is replaced remains up in the air. Michael Skubala was not definitive on Liam Cooper’s condition, but would there be any sense in taking a risk on the captain?

It seems as though it’s a recovering skipper or Junior Firpo in the backline. The upside of going with the latter is the continued partnership of Robin Koch with Max Wober in central defence.

Sinisterra risked or replaced?

Luis Sinisterra seemed more positive based on Skubala’s comments. Rather than rule the Colombian out, the caretaker said the winger would probably be okay, but needed continued assessment up to kick-off.

Leeds United squad revealed for Man United Premier League clash

Leeds United co-caretaker manager Michael Skubala faces a number of late fitness calls ahead of the Whites' Premier League clash with Manchester United at Elland Road on Sunday afternoon.

Willy Gnonto's stunning strike and Raphael Varane's own goal were cancelled out by efforts from Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho during a thrilling 2-2 draw at Old Trafford on Wednesday night. Both sides will dust themselves down and go again this weekend with the Whites looking to record their first win in the top flight for more than three months.

Skubala would have been cursing his luck as he watched on in the first half when Luis Sinisterra was replaced after just eight minutes, as he picked up what looked to be a muscular injury. Things quickly went from bad to worse when Pascal Struijk was caught by a rasping effort from Rashford that saw the defender taken off with a concussion.
