Leeds United named in race for Club Brugge star amid reports of desire to leave

Noa Lang is reportedly one of three players who could leave Club Brugge in January with Leeds United named as one of two interested clubs. That is according to Voetbal24, who claim that AS Monaco are also keen on signings the Netherlands international next month.

Lang has been a player linked with Leeds for around 18 months now having established himself as a star player in recent seasons. It is also thought that Lang is keen to move on from Brugge in order to progress his career, with an injury in the summer ending his hopes of a move earlier this year.

Leeds are keen on signing a new attacker in January, though Lang's best position is on the left and Jesse Marsch's side is in need of someone who is more comfortable down the middle. The Whites are pretty well stocked in wide areas with Luis Sinisterra, Crysencio Summerville, Jack Harrison and Wilfried Gnonto all strong options.

That said, Lang is clearly a top player having jetted off to Qatar for the World Cup with the Netherlands squad alongside former Whites target Cody Gakpo. In 102 appearances with Brugge he has scored 31 goals and provided 29 assists, with his ability to go past players one of his strongest attributes.

Earlier this month, journalist Dean Jones also hinted at Leeds making a move for Lang next month. Speaking to GiveMeSport, Jones said: "They want to avoid that disappointment of suffering on someone like Gakpo and missing out on them and then seeing them linked with every big club in Europe, basically, the same thing will happen with Noa Lang.

“He’s got massive potential and is already doing really well, so I would expect them to push on with that soon.”
