On a desperately disappointing night for Welsh football, arguably one of the few bright spots was the performance of Leeds United winger Daniel James.
The 25-year-old scored the opener against Armenia, looked menacing on the left-hand side and created a number of opportunities his team-mates failed to take on what turned into an embarrassing night at Cardiff City Stadium.
Rob Page's men go into Monday's game against Turkey in desperate need of a result if they are to keep pace in their bid to qualify for the European Championships in Germany next year.

A number of players in Page's squad looked rusty, with club minutes perhaps not being afforded to them in recent months and the manager will hope their futures are sorted as soon as possible.
James., who spent last season on loan with Fulham, heads back to Elland Road to find no manager in place after relegation saw Sam Allardyce depart the club.
The frontrunners for the job, Daniel Farke and Graham Potter, know all about the qualities he can bring, and the initial noises from Yorkshire suggest James will be part of plans next term.
Former Norwich City boss Farke tried to sign James before he moved to Manchester United from Swansea City back in 2019.
"I’m not surprised by how good James has been," Farke said just after the Welshman had penned terms for the Old Trafford side.
"I always liked him, but sadly there was no chance for us to get him when Man United called!
"To deliver that quickly on this level says a lot about his character."
Potter, meanwhile, was James' manager in SA1 and he also reportedly tried to sign the winger when he was managing Brighton.
It was Potter who released the shackles of a young James at the-then Liberty Stadium, scoring a wonder goal against Brentford in the FA Cup. The former Chelsea manager knows his skillset well.
When he moved to Manchester, Potter said of his former player: "I'm delighted for him, probably this time last year he wasn't playing this regularly for Swansea. But he's a great lad, his sprinting ability is sensational, he's so brave and he'll get better and better with his final ball and execution."
James himself credits Potter for saving his career during their early days at Swansea together.
"I think it was the down point in my career. I went to Shrewsbury on loan, I came back within a month and hadn't played a game - injured and feeling sorry for myself really," said James during his time at Old Trafford.
"I didn't think I was going to make it as a footballer. I think I had 10 games that season altogether, with injuries as well.
"Coming back the next season was the same. I wanted to go back on loan but the gaffer who was there at the time - he's at Brighton now - said to me 'I feel like you've got a big chance to play here'. Coming out of that meeting, obviously I was delighted but was he just saying that to be nice? He really put the confidence back into me to play."
