Leeds United loan watch as Helder Costa makes Al-Ittihad debut as trio fail to get off bench

Only two of Leeds United loanees featured this weekend. While the Whites fell to a 1-0 defeat at Brighton, their loanees had varied success when playing for their respective clubs.

Here's a look how at how they fared this weekend.

Helder Costa

Costa made his debut for Al-Ittihad on Friday. The winger started as Al-Ittihad won their first game of the new Saudi Premier League season, beating Al-Adalah 3-0. The Angolan has linked up with his old Wolves boss, Nuno Espirito Santo, in Saudi Arabia and his side sit top of the division after matchday one.

Costa's loan move will become permanent at the end of the season.

Jamie Shackleton

Shackleton played 85 minutes as Millwall fell to a 1-0 defeat to Championship table-toppers Reading at The Den. The versatile midfielder operated in midfield and completed 79 percent of his passes, according to WhoScored.

It was a return to the starting XI for Shackleton, who was a substitute in Millwall's 2-0 defeat at Norwich City last weekend. He has featured in all of the Lions' league games so far this season.

Charlie Cresswell

Shackleton's Millwall team-mate did not feature against Reading. Cresswell was an unused substitute in the defeat, like he was in the loss at Norwich.

He started Millwall's first four league games, but he hasn't featured since coming off as a 64th minute substitute against Swansea City on August 16.

Lewis Bate

The 19-year-old midfielder was an unused substitute in Oxford United's 2-1 victory at Cheltenham Town. Bate played 70 minutes in the Yellows' 2-0 defeat against Crystal Palace in the Carabao Cup second round in midweek. He is yet to complete 90 minutes since joining the League One outfit.

Tyler Roberts

Tyler Roberts' injury issues continued as he was left out of QPR's squad for their exciting 3-2 win at Watford.

Rs boss Micheal Beale gave an update after the win: “He (Roberts) just wasn’t fit,” Beale said.

“I am expecting him back and available midweek. Honestly, it’s seem every time we play there is something.

Stuart McKinstry

After being an unused substitute last weekend, winger McKinstry was absent from Motherwell's squad for their 2-1 defeat to Kilmarnock on Saturday.

Jack Jenkins

Midfielder Jenkins secured a loan move to League Two side Salford City last week and was an unused substitute as the Ammies claimed a last-gasp 1-0 win over Stevenage. The 20-year-old will be hoping to establish himself at the Peninsula Stadium in the coming weeks.

Ian Poveda

Poveda signed for Championship side Blackpool on Saturday, but he watched their 3-3 draw against Bristol City from the stands. He could make his debut for the Tangerines against Blackburn Rovers - who he was on loan with last season - on Wednesday.
