Leeds United loan round-up as Charlie Cresswell returns in Millwall victory

Leeds United loanee Charlie Cresswell returned for Millwall as a second half substitute as they moved into the play-offs slots with a 2-1 victory over West Brom on Saturday.

Gary Rowett has recently switched from a back-five to a back-four and Cresswell has been the victim of his formational change. Cresswell was left out of the squad for four straight matches, but returned to the bench against the Baggies, before being brought on at half-time.

Millwall had equalised before the break through Callum Styles and earned all three points after Tyler Burey scored in the 90th minute. Fellow Leeds loanee Jamie Shackleton also returned to the starting line-up to complete the full 90 minutes after starting the last four games on the bench.

Elsewhere, Helder Costa played 66 minutes as Al-Ittihad defeated Al-Wehda 1-0 to move to within four points of Saudi Pro League leaders Al-Shabab. He too had not featured in the last three games, after starting each of the previous four.

Ian Poveda and Mateusz Bogusz were less fortunate as they were both unused substitutes for Blackpool and Ibiza respectively. Poveda, who has featured from the bench just once in Blackpool's last four games, sat out once again as they beat Preston 4-2 at Bloomfield Road.

Bogusz has featured less prominently and was once again unable to add to his tally of just 62 minutes as Ibiza lost 2-1 against Levante in the Spanish second-tier. Tyler Roberts missed his second game in a row for QPR, who retained their place at the summit of the Championship with a 2-1 victory over Wigan.

QPR boss Michael Beale has issued a promising injury update though, as Roberts is on the verge of a return to action.

"Tyler Roberts tried to train yesterday to be available and still just felt something in his calf, so I didn't want to take the risk," Beale told the media via West London Sport

Daniel James didn't feature in Fulham's 3-2 victory over Leeds at Elland Road on Sunday as he was ineligible to face his parent club.
