Leeds United target Jose Cifuentes has been told 'the sky is the limit' after an impressive campaign in the MLS. The LAFC midfielder has scored seven goals and assisted six times so far this season, with his club top of the Western Conference.
His fine performances for both club and country has seen a number of clubs across Europe sit up and take note. Something that hasn't surprised LAFC's club general manager and co-president John Thorrington.
He told reporters last week, as per the Daily Mail: "What I'll speak to about Cifu is I think if he's not the most talented midfielder in the league, he's up there. I think he has absolutely everything he needs to succeed.

"I'm not surprised to receive and hear of interest from high-level clubs in Europe. We, as I say, evaluate these opportunities on a case-by-case basis and we will cross that bridge when the appropriate opportunity comes."
Leeds will face competition from Brighton to sign the 23-year-old, with Graham Potter's side investing into the Ecuadorian market with Jeremy Sarmiento, Moises Caicedo and Pervis Estupiñán already in their ranks. Cifuentes is already a big player in the national side and is expected to feature at the 2022 Qatar World Cup later this year.
LAFC head coach Steve Cherundolo has been full of praise for his star player and expects him to play a key part in their quest for the MLS ahead of the World Cup.
"The sky's the limit with Cifu," Cherundolo said. "As John said, he's one of the most talented players in the league, midfielders in the league. I would second that.
"He's in control of his own destiny. It can be a very exciting time for him moving forward. He knows what we expect of him and he's been able to produce those performances quite frequently this year."
