Blackburn Rovers manager Jon Dahl Tomasson says interest in Leeds United target Ben Brereton Diaz is 'understandable' and that he can't guarantee that his star striker won't move to a Premier League club this summer.
Brereton Diaz has been linked with a move to Elland Road, with West Ham United also reportedly taking an increasingly close interest in the Blackburn striker's situation. Leeds are looking to add a centre-forward to their squad, and the 23-year-old has become the latest player to be linked with a move to the Whites.
The Chile international is entering the final year of his contract at Ewood Park having scored 31 goals in 127 appearances for the Championship club. Reports suggest that Blackburn would look to hold out for a fee of £20 million for Brereton Diaz.
Speaking to the Lancashire Telegraph, Tomasson said: “We all know that he’s an excellent player, playing for the national team, scoring lots of goals. He scored 22 goals last season, he’s an excellent player and you can see that.
“Good players are wanted in the Premier League, I don’t think I can give any guarantees that he’ll be here. He has one year left and he’s a great player. Big clubs want him, which is understandable.”
