Leeds United injury list as Patrick Bamford faces race against time ahead of Tottenham trip

Leeds United forward Patrick Bamford will face a race against time to be fit for the trip to Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday after picking up a hip injury in training.

Bamford has been plagued by injury for the last 18 months and suffered another setback which saw him sidelined for the 4-3 victory over AFC Bournemouth.

The 29-year-old will miss the League Cup clash against Wolves on Wednesday and Jesse Marsch will have to wait and see whether Bamford will be fit for the trip to North London.

After Leeds' second straight league win over Bournemouth on Saturday, here is a full list of Leeds' injuries, with potential return dates.

Patrick Bamford - hip

Bamford was absent from the squad for the victory over Bournemouth after picking up an injury in training the day before. He now faces a race against time to be fit for the trip to North London to face Tottenham Hotspur.

Marsch said (Nov 5): " He took a penalty literally in the last action of training yesterday and then felt something in his hip. So they think it's like a seven-day injury and then we'll see how it pans out for the week and if we can get them ready for Tottenham."

Potential return date : 12/11/2022

Archie Gray - foot

The teenager suffered a broken toe after stubbing it at home and has been missing since the end of September.

Marsch said (Nov 3): “ Archie Gray will be, we think, on the pitch tomorrow, so starting getting closer to training with the full team."

Potential return date: Unknown

Adam Forshaw - ankle

Forshaw was ruled out of the goalless draw against Aston Villa earlier this month due to a 'twisted ankle'. The midfielder has missed the last seven matches in total, but Marsch confirmed that he has had successful surgery on a hernia problem. Forshaw has been plagued by injuries since his arrival from Middlesbrough in 2018 and missed 560 days with a hip injury between September 2019 and April 2021.

Marsch said (Nov 3): “Stuart (Dallas) and Adam (Forshaw), again are injured but making progress,”

Potential return date: Unknown

Luis Sinisterra - foot

Despite initial hope that Sinisterra would be back in training last week, Marsch confirmed in his pre-Bournemouth press conference that he will be out until after the World Cup.

Marsch said (Nov 3): And then the only other update is Luis Sinisterra. Luis has a foot injury that it turns out to be more than what we initially originally thought it was. He wasn't making the progress that we were hoping for him to make over the last 10 days. So they did another scan and then they had a specialist looked at it, and they start to worry about it being a Lisfranc injury.

“It’s a rare injury that controls the movement of the metatarsals and when that is ruptured, it can be a long recovery. We don't believe it's ruptured. We believe it's partially torn, which puts him in a little bit of a grey area, but probably out until after the World Cup break. So we'll know more about that today. And again, we're hopeful that it's a version that doesn't take off for long.”

Potential return date: 26/12/2022

Stuart Dallas - thigh

Dallas suffered a fractured femur in a 50/50 challenge with Manchester City winger Jack Grealish in a 4-0 defeat back in April. He was initially ruled out for six months, although that timeframe looks set to be extended into next year.

Marsch said (Nov 3): “Stuart (Dallas) and Adam (Forshaw), again are injured but making progress."

Potential return date: 01/01/2023
