Leeds United injury list and return dates as U21s appearances show improving situation

Leeds United won't be in action until after the international break following the postponement of their last two fixtures after the death of Her Majesty The Queen.

The Whites lost 5-2 against Brentford in their last outing on September 3 but have had their games against Nottingham Forest and Manchester United respectively postponed. Leeds are next scheduled to play when they play host to Aston Villa at Elland Road on October 2.

The extended break has given those suffering with injuries an opportunity to recover, while Junior Firpo, Luke Ayling, Liam Cooper and Patrick Bamford starting Leeds U21s' 6-2 win over Southampton B. Bamford scored a hat-trick and solitary strikes from Liam Cooper, Crysencio Summerville and Sonny Perkins completed their rout over the Saints. Meanwhile, Rasmus Kristensen, who missed out with injury against Brentford, is fit enough to report for international duty with Denmark.

Here is the full list of injuries that Leeds are currently soldiering and when they could possibly return to action.

Rodrigo - shoulder

Rodrigo was replaced during Leeds' 1-1 draw against Everton with a dislocated shoulder at the end of August. The injury has halted his impressive start to the season, which has seen him score four goals in his first five games. However, Marsch remained optimistic that the Spaniard is set for a return after the international break.

Marsch said (Sep 1): "An update on Rodrigo - when it pops out, it's about as good a case scenario as possible.

"That means that it doesn't need surgery and that hopefully in three to four weeks it can calm down. Maybe it takes a little bit longer, maybe it's a little bit shorter.

"We will see. He feels good, he feels confident that he will be ready fairly soon so we're kind of targeting after the international break."

Potential return date: 02/10/2022

Junior Firpo - knee

Having returned to training earlier this month, Firpo started in Leeds U21s' victory over Southampton B on Friday. Luke Ayling, Liam Cooper and Patrick Bamford also started for the Whites. Firpo suffered a knee injury in a 4-0 pre-season win over Blackpool in July, with Pascal Struijk filling in a left-back in his absence.

Marsch said (Sep 1): "Junior Firpo, Luke Ayling, Liam Cooper, Patrick Bamford are all back. So, there are some decisions on exactly which guys are ready to go for the weekend but they're all training, looking healthy, looking strong and ready to go so that's a really good sign. next week.”

Potential return date: 02/10/2022

Stuart Dallas - leg

Stuart Dallas suffered a fractured femur after a 50/50 challenge with Manchester City winger Jack Grealish back in April's 4-0 loss and was ruled out for six months.

Marsch said (Aug 11): “Then Stuart Dallas, I saw on the pitch today, moving around a little bit. So that was an exciting moment for us.”

Potential return date: Unknown
