Leeds United injury list and key return dates ahead of tough Arsenal test

Leeds United will have to bounce back quickly from a very tough loss against Crystal Palace as they prepare to host Premier League table-toppers Arsenal.

There's no doubt this will be Jesse Marsch's men's biggest test of the season so far but the American manager will have a task on his hands when selecting his matchday squad due to injuries.

The Whites won't have to worry about winger Luis Sinisterra missing out as he returns from suspension this weekend but who else is able to return?

Here is the full list of injuries that Leeds are currently soldiering and when they could possibly return to action ahead of Mikel Arteta's Gunners this weekend.

Junior Firpo - Knee

Having returned to training in late August, Junior Firpo will be finally be back for the Whites this weekend after he was expected to return against Crystal Palace from the knee injury he suffered in July's 4-0 pre-season win against Blackpool.

Marsch said (Oct 9): "Junior Firpo just picked up a little something after the last game so we wanted to give him the week and he'll be ready by next week."

Return date : 16/10/2022

Archie Gray - Toe

The Leeds senior team's youngest player, Gray suffered a fractured toe after stubbing it at home and has missed out on training over the past few weeks but will be returning in the near future.

Marsch said (Oct 7): "Archie is healing well hopefully, out of a boot and will start training soon as well."

Potential return date : 23/10/2022

Adam Forshaw - Ankle

Marsch told the media earlier this month that Forshaw had "twisted his ankle" and would be out for a week. However, Forshaw's simple 'twist' appeared to be more than it seemed.

Marsch said (Oct 7): "Forshaw had surgery yesterday and he'll be out for about a month, but they feel good about the procedure and hopefully he'll be back soon."

Potential return date : 07/11/2022

Leo Hjelde - Appendicitis

Hjelde is set for a spell on the sidelines after going to hospital with appendicitis last week which required surgery. The 19-year-old arrived from Celtic in 2021 and has played two senior appearances for the club so far.

Marsch said (Oct 7): "Leo Hjelde had an appendectomy two days ago so he was in the hospital. He's at home now and they think that might take a few weeks. Everyone else is ready to go."

Potential return date : 30/10/2022

Stuart Dallas - Leg

Stuart Dallas suffered a fractured femur after a 50/50 challenge with Manchester City winger Jack Grealish back in April's 4-0 loss and was officially ruled out for six months.

Marsch said (Oct 7): "Stuart had a procedure done this week, and then he had another visit to the doctor and they think he's doing really well, really well. So we're all optimistic and that this procedure will help him I'd still say he's a couple months away from being on the pitch but he's moving really well in the right direction."

Potential return date : Unknown
