Here are your Leeds United evening headlines on Saturday, December 24.

Victor Orta reveals he would not have left Leeds United for Chelsea

Leeds United director of football Victor Orta has revealed he had no intention of leaving the Whites to join Chelsea.

Earlier this season, there were rumours Orta was being lined-up for a job at Stamford Bridge following Todd Boehly's takeover, but nothing ever emerged.

A move to London was also news to Orta, who found out he had been linked to the Blues via the press.

And in a recent interview with Spanish outlet AS, Orta outlined why even if there was concrete interest from Chelsea for his services, he is happy at Elland Road with Leeds.

"No, everything I found out, I found out from the press," Orta told AS.

"I was and am very happy at Leeds and that’s why they wouldn’t even consider my name, because it came to them that I was not going to leave the club in any way."

'Puts life into perspective' - Leeds United stars visit Children's Hospital for Christmas message

A number of Leeds United first-team players paid a visit to Leeds Children’s Hospital on Thursday afternoon to spread some festive cheer.

The Whites have been unable to make their trip to the hospital in over two years as a result of the Covid-19 outbreak.

Luke Ayling, Mateusz Klich, Adam Forshaw, Robin Koch, Rodrigo, Brenden Aaronson, Rasmus Kristensen, Pascal Struijk, Cody Drameh and Leo Hjelde, headed straight to the city centre-based hospital following training on Thursday to visit youngsters and their families who are currently receiving care on various wards.

The club has a long standing relationship with the hospital and they were pleased to be able to link up with the staff again this year.

Ayling spoke to LUTV about the heart-warming visit, saying: "This is always a special visit for us to be a part of, the chance to meet and hopefully put smiles on the faces of some kids and their families who have been going through difficult times, especially at this time of year, I think is really important."

Mateusz Klich's reported January move from Leeds United to DC United has been described as '95%' completed.

Klich looks set to link up with Wayne Rooney at DC United, with the former Manchester United and Derby County man currently the manager.

The Poland international has struggled for game time under Jesse Marsch this season, with his only two starts coming in the EFL Cup.
