Leeds duo shine for the States
Weston McKennie and Brenden Aaronson starred as the United States thrashed Grenada 7-1 in the CONCACAF Nations League. Unlike the European nations, this was not USA’s first game since the World Cup.
Defeat to Serbia and a draw against Columbia meant morale was low in the camp before taking on a side ranked 173rd in the FIFA world rankings. However, key performances from several Premier League names helped USA record a much-needed win.

While Christian Pulisic grabbed the headlines for his electric performance, McKennie bagged two while Brenden Aaronson also got on the scoresheet. Could a fruitful international break be a springboard for the duo’s confidence ahead of the upcoming relegation run-in?
Wober on idols growing up
Leeds defender Max Wober has selected World Cup winners Mats Hummels and Xabi Alonso as his biggest idols.
That transition also saw him deployed as a central midfielder for a time, and Wober looked to the legendary former Liverpool, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich midfield orchestrator Alonso for inspiration.
"When I played in midfield, it was clearly Xabi Alonso. I thought the way he played football was terrific," Wober told Kicker in 2022. "With the move to central defence, it became Mats Hummels. He has a really good left foot, plays very dangerous balls in the build-up game and thus also provides assists again and again. I also like his type, he's just a down-to-earth personality."

Summerville on Sinisterra bond
Crysencio Summerville has revealed that he still follows Dutch side Feyenoord along with his fellow Leeds United teammate Luis Sinisterra.
The 21-year-old was born in Rotterdam, and joined Feyenoord's youth ranks at the age of seven in 2008. He spent 12 years on the books of his hometown club but never registered a single senior appearance.
"We certainly talk about Feyenoord sometimes," Summerville told Voetbal International (via 1908.nl) "I think when I go back (after the international break), we always talk about 'have you seen the match against Ajax?'.
"Sometimes we watch Feyenoord together, or while eating we talk about Feyenoord, for example about his time there."
