Leeds United have more 'fight' than Everton in relegation battle amid promising Watford prediction

Leeds United have more 'fight' than Everton in the battle to stay in the Premier League and are all but safe. That's the view of former West Ham United forward Dean Ashton, who believes that the Whites will stretch their unbeaten run to four matches with a win over 19th-place Watford.

The Whites have picked up seven points from a possible nine available after beating Wolverhampton Wanderers and Norwich City, before the Whites drew 1-1 with Southampton last weekend. Jack Harrison gave Leeds the lead midway through the first-half, before James Ward-Prowse levelled with a sumptuous free-kick.

Meanwhile, Watford are three points behind 17th-place Everton and face an almighty fight if they want to get out of trouble. The Hornets also sit two points off Burnley but have played a game more than both teams, leaving them a massive task and a win over Leeds would give them some hope.

However, Leeds are six points above the danger zone but could be dragged back into the battle if they manage to lose to Watford, who they beat 1-0 in the reverse fixture in November. When asked about whether a win for Watford would pull Leeds right back in it, Ashton said: "Yes, I suppose you would have to say it does.

"Again, I look at what Roy is trying to do at Watford, he is desperately trying to turn them into what Palace were, which is a real low block defence and midfield. Then a little bit of pace and magic on the counter-attack.

"But I think Leeds are going to win this game because I think Leeds will swarm all over them. I don't think that Watford, or that defence, is good enough.

"I have seen enough from Leeds, I know they haven't exactly picked up the results they probably would've liked. They are another one of those sides that another win and that just gives you enough.

"I have been there in the bottom three and if Watford get beat by Leeds, that's it. You can forget about those two in terms of the competitiveness and that is all it takes. I just see a little bit more fight from Leeds than I maybe do from the likes of an Everton certainly."
