Leeds United have been charged by the FA following an incident during their clash with Newcastle United at Elland Road in the Premier League last month. Sam Allardyce’s side drew 2-2 with the Magpies after giving away two penalties and missing one of their own in a contest that was racked with tension and frustration.
The charge relates to an incident which occurred in the Newcastle United technical area, as a man left his seat and escaped the attention of stewards to confront Eddie Howe. The man was arrested at Elland Road, with the club confirming they had dished out a lifetime ban before West Yorkshire Police issued him with charges of assault and entering the field of play.
However, Leeds have also been charged by the FA for failing to ensure its supporters conduct themselves in an orderly fashion. The club have seven days to contest the charge.
