Leeds United have handed Newcastle a brilliant opportunity following their draw at Manchester United this evening. The Whites, who parted company with manager Jesse Marsch in midweek, had not won at Old Trafford in 41 years prior to tonight and it looked as though that run was about to come to an end.
Goals from Wilfried Gnonto and Crysencio Summerville gave coaches; Michael Skubala, Paco Gallardo and Chris Armas a shock lead at Old Trafford, only for Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho to equalise in the second-half. Leeds' winless run continues but they left Manchester United shell shocked for a period of time.
The result means the Magpies are just three points behind Erik ten Hag's side and now have a game in hand on the Red Devils. Eddie Howe's side can move back above Manchester United with a win on the road at Bournemouth this weekend as a result of their superior goal difference.

Ten Hag's men are not in action until Sunday, when they head to Elland Road to face Leeds United again. The Magpies will be hoping for another solid performance from the Yorkshire side who could put a further dent in Manchester United's Premier League title hopes.

Newcastle will be without Bruno Guimaraes for their trip to Bournemouth this weekend, with the Brazilian missing the second game of a three-match suspension, before hosting Liverpool at St. James' Park in just under a fortnight's time. The Reds are in the midst of a torrid run of form, but are the only side to beat Howe's men in the top flight this season.
