Leeds United goalkeeper Illan Meslier has been called-up to France's Under-21 European Championship squad despite losing his place in the Whites' starting XI. The 23-year-old was dropped by Sam Allardyce following a number of errors that lead to goals at the back end of the season.
Some of those errors would prove costly with Leeds' season ending in relegation to the Championship. Allardyce would select veteran goalkeeper Joel Robles for his final four games in charge as he looked to pull off a great escape.
However, the Whites would take just one point from Allardyce's four games in charge with Meslier now tipped to leave Elland Road this summer. The young Frenchman has played an integral part at Leeds since arriving from Lorient back in 2019.

He would amass over 100 appearances since his original loan move, helping the Whites win promotion from the Championship under Marcelo Bielsa. The goalkeeper has been a mainstay in Leeds' side throughout their time in the top flight and turned in a number of impressive displays which has attracted interest from Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United.
His poor form this season has not deterred any interest and the general consensus from supporters is that he - along with many others - will leave Elland Road this summer for a hefty fee.
Crystal Palace's Michael Olise is another Premier League representative in Les Bleus squad after a solid campaign.
