Tyler Roberts was confirmed to have left Leeds United - for the next season at least - earlier this week, as the 23-year-old sealed a loan move to Queen's Park Rangers. With the Whites making several signings already this summer, whilst seeking another forward, Roberts took the option to leave the club, knowing that his opportunities would likely be limited at Elland Road.
Speaking to QPR's website, Roberts stated that the move was motivated by the need to play regular football for the good of his career, as well as in the hopes of securing a spot in Wales' World Cup squad.
He said: "At this stage in my career, I want to play as many games as I can and this is a great club to come and do that at. I can feel the buzz around the place ahead of the new season with the new gaffer [Michael Beale].

"I had a chat with him and his enthusiasm towards the game is clear. He’s got a great track record with improving young players and he wants to play football in the right way. He feels that now is the time for me to really push on in my career – and so do I."
QPR have an option in the loan deal to buy Roberts permanently, believed to be in the region of £4.5million. Roberts has played 108 times for Leeds since sealing a move from West Bromwich Albion at 18-years-old. However, there has been frustration amongst fans that despite playing in a variety of attacking roles, he has only delivered nine goals and ten assists. The young Welshman will be hoping that a regular run in the team at QPR will help him to deliver greater end product to go with the rest of his game.
