Leeds United fans split on Burnley's decision to sack Sean Dyche after 10-year spell

Relegation threatened Burnley have sacked manager Sean Dyche after a 10-year spell in charge of the club. Dyche leaves with the club 18 th in the Premier League with just four wins from their 30 matches this season – four points adrift of safety.

The Clarets are also nine points behind Leeds United in 16 th place but do have two games in hand, meaning survival still is a realistic possibility. Burnley head to West Ham United on Sunday looking to respond to their disappointing 2-0 defeat at bottom of the table Norwich City last weekend, which ultimately has proved to be his final game in charge.

Here is how Leeds fans have been reacting to the news of Dyche’s departure.

@neil907: Sean Dyche sacked. Can’t make my mind up if it’s good or bad for #lufc.”

@brookylufc93: “If anyone could have done it I think it was Dyche, that sacking might just do it for us.”

@davvy_benson: “Dyche is the reason Burnley fans get to see PL football. They could have stayed up with him. No chance now. As a Leeds fan I’m happy.”

@JohnTipple1999: “If I wasn’t already confident Leeds were going to stay up that’s the nail in the coffin for Burnley! Sacking Dyche is an absolute disgrace, after all he’s done for the club.”

@nickbriggs72: “Waiting for the negative Leeds fans to say we are doomed because of the sacking at Burnley.”

@EmKayeWhy: “Must be the only one on Twitter who is worried Burnley sacked Dyche. Look what happened to Leeds when we sacked our heroic, much loved manager. Hoping our new manager bounce continues and theirs never starts.”

@SlimJimCreatie: “Burnley have sacked Sean Dyche? Surely that benefits Leeds and Everton… what were they thinking?”

@BarneyLUFC21: “Burnley getting ready for Championship by the looks of it. What Dyche did though was quite remarkable to keep Burnley up for so many seasons. The new owners are definitely one to watch though.”
