Leeds United fans believe injuries are the biggest reason the club has been dragged into a relegation battle this season.
The Whites have parted company with Marcelo Bielsa today after a woeful run of form that now sees them nervously looking over their shoulders at the bottom three.
Leeds currently sit in 16th place in the Premier League, just two points above 18th-placed Burnley, who have two games in hand.
In a LeedsLive survey, run in the wake of the 4-0 defeat to Spurs, we asked fans to have their say on what has gone wrong this season.
When asked what is most at fault for the Whites being dragged into a relegation battle, 35.6% of fans said they believed injuries were the biggest reason.
The Whites have been without key players such as Kalvin Phillips, Patrick Bamford and Liam Cooper for large periods of the season, with Bielsa forced to plug gaps by using youth players.
Yet, with the Whites on Saturday becoming the first team to concede 20 goals in a calendar month, having conceded an average of four goals per game in February, 32% of fans believe Bielsa and his coaching staff are deserving of most of the blame.
There have been questions over Leeds’ lack of transfer business when faced with poor squad depth, and 24.5% of fans said in our survey that the club’s owners and board are most accountable for what’s gone wrong this season.
Just 7.9% of fans believe the players are most to blame.
With Bielsa leaving on Sunday, the 85.6% of fans who said that they did not believe the manager would be in charge next season have been proven correct.
Fans were split over whether the poor run of form had altered their own opinions on whether Bielsa should stay, with 50.5% revealing their feelings towards Bielsa’s future remained unchanged despite being dragged into a relegation battle.
