‘Going down, going down, going down’ is not the cry Leeds United fans want to hear at Elland Road.
Thankfully, Whites fans will probably join in with the chant during a special fundraising event happening at their ground. Leeds United’s Elland Road will be hosting a charity abseil on Saturday, July 1.
The festivities are taking place to raise vital funds for Yorkshire Cat Rescue. To take part, you need to be aged over 15 (those aged under 18 require consent of a parent or guardian) and raise a minimum of £100 in donations.

You’ll need to pay an additional £30 to book a place. Jo Beverley, fundraiser for the charity, said: “We have organised two abseils so far which have been so much fun and everyone really enjoyed them. We are so excited for this year’s abseil at Elland Road.
“We would encourage anyone interested to book their place as soon as possible as we do expect tickets to sell out.” It is likely a unique experience a Leeds United fan (without a fear of heights) will love although you don’t have to be a fan of the club to get involved.
Yorkshire Cat Rescue exists to save the lives of abandoned and unwanted cats and kittens in Yorkshire and beyond. All cats are provided with food, love, shelter and the necessary veterinary care until they find a forever loving home.
