Leeds United are facing something of a scheduling nightmare following the postponement of a second game this month. The Whites were due to travel to Old Trafford this Sunday to face bitter rivals Manchester United.
However, with the Queen’s funeral set to take place in London on Monday, September 18, the game has been called off due to a shortage in policing numbers. Greater Manchester Police have been supporting forces across the UK following the passing of the Queen and with resources stretched, the Premier League had no choice but to push back the fixture.
The Whites also saw Monday’s scheduled clash with Nottingham Forest postponed as a mark of respect following the death of the Queen last week. A total of seven top flight games will be going ahead this weekend, including Brentford-Arsenal in the capital.
