City star admits Leeds trepidation
Phil Foden, who in recent seasons as emerged not only as one of Europe’s most exciting young talents, but also as a key figure for Manchester City, has named Leeds United’s Elland Road as being one of the most intimidating atmospheres in the country.
Elland Road will play host to reigning Premier League champions Manchester City on December 28th in what will be The Whites' first competitive game back following the month-long hiatus.
Jesse Marsch’s side currently sit 15th in the Premier League table just two points above the relegation zone which they will once again aim to be steering clear of. Manchester City meanwhile are five points shy of top spot and will be looking to hit the ground running immediately.
However it won’t be easy for Pep Guardiola’s men, with Elland Road widely regarded as one of the division’s more hostile grounds, something Foden acknowledged in a recent interview, stating: “The fans make [Elland Road] such a special stadium.”

Marsch faces midfield selection headache
Leeds United boss Jesse Marsch has been dealt a blow ahead of his side’s fixture against reigning Premier League champions Manchester City, with star midfielder Tyler Adams unavailable for selection following his dismissal late on against Tottenham Hotspur in what was the last game before the World Cup break.
Although the suspension will only last one game, it presents an issue for Marsch who now must look to his fringe players for a solution.
The Leeds boss, who arrived at Elland Road back in February of this year, experimented with alternatives in a recent friendly against Spanish side Real Sociedad, pairing Marc Roca with Adam Forshaw in the first half, before bringing on Sam Greenwood in the second.
Forshaw, who soon after joining the club in 2018, became a regular under Marcelo Bielsa, has struggled with injury issues of late that have largely kept him out of the side.
Sam Greenwood, still only 20, brings an unpredictability and attacking energy to the side, but against a possession-dominant side such as City, the more defensive option may be more suitable.

Summerville outlines World Cup ambition
Emerging Leeds United winger, Crysencio Summerville, has made clear his ambition of being selected for the Netherlands 2026 World Cup squad.
Having only recently turned 21, time is still very much on the side of the former Feyenoord youngster, and should his trajectory continue, it’s a dream well within reach.
Summerville has starred of late for the Whites, scoring crucial goals against top opposition to keep Jesse Marsch’s side afloat and clear of the drop zone.
Speaking to MailOnline Summerville explained his thinking in switching Rotterdam for the South Yorkshire-based side, with the 2026 World Cup very much in his thinking.
"If I can keep going, that is the plan. At my old club, we had conversations but it wasn't clear enough for me, that's why I joined Leeds.”
