Leeds United duo react to their USA World Cup call-ups in heart-warming fashion

Leeds United midfield duo Tyler Adams and Brenden Aaronson have both shared their reactions to finding out they'll be part of the 26-man squad for the United States at the World Cup later this month.

Both players arrived at Elland Road in the summer transfer window and have been two standouts of the Leeds squad so far this season and have impressed USA head coach Greg Berhalter enough for him to include both in his squad.

Both were considered shoe-ins for a place on the plane to Qatar but with Adams injured in recent weeks, there was a tiny element of doubt as to whether he'd go to the tournament.

Taking to Twitter, Adams shared two photos of himself - one of him as a youngster and then one of him grown up, playing for the USMNT.

He said: "A dream as a kid. A reality now. It’s an privilege and honour to be able to represent my country on the biggest stage!! LET’S GOOO! @USMNT".

The USMNT YouTube channel also posted a video earlier today of Aaronson receiving a call from Berhalter telling him he'd made the squad.

"Seriously? Damn, that makes me smile man, thank you," Aaronson said. "I appreciate that, thank you."

"Think how far you've come," Berhalter told the Whites midfielder. "Think about the first time in camp, everything goes so quickly. Now you're in the Premier League, and now you're playing in the World Cup."

"Yeah, that's actually crazy. Thanks a lot for the call, coach. That's awesome, man," Aaronson replied.
