Feyenoord manager Arne Slot has confirmed that he will not leave the Dutch side mid-season despite admitting that Leeds United's interest in him "was a compliment".
Leeds have reportedly been eager to tempt Slot away from the Eredivisie and into the top job at Elland Road to replace the now departed Jesse Marsch. The Dutch coach has caught the attention of the Whites following Feyenoord's incredible league campaign that sees them top of the table with only one defeat all season.
The fast and aggressive football that Slot plays has been likened to that of Marcelo Bielsa and many had tipped the 44-year-old to go on to replicate a similar style of football that fans had seen from the legendary Argentine boss.

However, Slot has now confirmed that he has no intention of leaving Feyenoord halfway through the season, despite admitting that he was flattered by Leeds' interest in him.
When asked whether he could, or did not want to leave Feyenoord, Slot was quoted by De Telegraaf as saying: “I’m staying, I’m just staying trainer of Feyenoord. I can say that now. There has been contact between the clubs, but we are working on something beautiful here.
“It is a combination of both. The club was very clear. It is a compliment that a club like Leeds United is interested. It is a wonderful club in England, but it is not a disappointment or a punishment to continue at Feyenoord.
"We are doing very well on many fronts. In the league, we are still in a European tournament. I will continue with great enthusiasm.”
