Leeds United could solve midfield issues with Bayern Munich midfielder Marc Roca

Leeds United have been in need of a reinforcements in central midfield for some time and it has emerged that Victor Orta wants to bring Bayern Munich's Marc Roca to the club. The Spaniard is seen as somebody who can provide cover for Kalvin Phillips, as well as allow Jesse Marsch more options to play in a deeper midfield two, which the American prefers.

The Athletic report that the 25-year-old could be available for a fee of around £10million, whilst they also state that West Ham United have an interest in the player. Roca joined the German champions in the summer of 20/21 for a fee of just over £8million. However, he did not establish himself in the team, as neither Hansi Flick, nor Julian Nagelsmann gave him extended opportunities.

As such, he has made just 15 Bundesliga appearances. His time in Spain was far more successful though, as he played over 30 times in both of his final two season in La Liga. This saw him recognised with Spanish Under 21 caps and was enough to attract the interests of one of the most successful teams in the world, in the form of Bayern.

The Whites have already completed the signings of Brenden Aaronson and Rasmus Kristensen, as Orta appears to be working quickly to provide Marsch with a reinvigorated squad ahead of a new Premier League season. Whilst central midfield has been a priority for some time, an additional striker is expected to be the next priority of the summer additions.
