Leeds United secured their Premier League safety on a dramatic final day with a 2-1 win at Brentford. The Whites moved ahead of Burnley and into 17th following the Clarets’ defeat to Newcastle United at Turf Moor, which has consigned them to a place in the Championship.
Despite the happy ending, it has been a season of struggle for Leeds and they will be desperate to avoid a repeat of how close they came to dropping back out of the top flight. For that reason, and as stated by Andrea Radrizzani yesterday, work will already be underway ahead of the summer as they look to bolster the squad.
Due to the sheer volume of injuries throughout the season, Leeds’ squad has often been threadbare – with a number of youngsters having been made to step up to the plate. Jesse Marsch has already confirmed the academy is set to play a key role in his philosophy moving forwards and so the squad could be set for some changes this summer.
